With a lot of tinkering and attention to detail, we have adapted and simplified a well-known home remedy to new requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
Only fresh, dry coffee grounds (filter coffee) are suitable for smoldering in the VapoWesp smoking box, as they contain essential oils that enable smoldering. You can use any type of commercially available coffee grounds (no ready-made cappuccino mixes, instant coffee, or similar).
Already brewed coffee, i.e., old coffee grounds, is unfortunately NOT suitable. Here, the essential oils have been completely washed out and can no longer be ignited. Also, the coffee grounds must not be freshly ground — then they are still too moist. They must dry for at least 4 weeks.
Unfortunately, glowing coffee powder alone smells very strong and spoils the enjoyment outdoors. Our VapoPowders are specially developed herbal blends for flavoring coffee smoke.
All herbal blends are organic quality. We have test certificates for the individual ingredients because it is very important to us to pay attention to insect-friendly production right from the start.
Since we purchase our herbs in large quantities, our VapoPowders are significantly more cost-effective compared to commercially available organic herbs.
However, if the smell of regular coffee smoke does not bother you, you can of course omit the herbal blends. We leave that up to your nose :)
Give it a try! We have achieved the best glowing ability of the coffee powder at the recommended mixing ratio – too much VapoPowder quickly smothers the embers.
Our recommendation: Mix 2 heaping teaspoons of fresh, dry coffee powder with one heaping teaspoon of VapoPowder of your favorite variety in the stainless steel container.
You can simply wipe the smoker box itself with a slightly damp cloth (without cleaning agents, as the bamboo wood is untreated) - just make sure to store the box dry indoors when you're not using it.
We recommend cleaning the stainless steel parts with common stainless steel cleaners (stainless steel cleaner, oven spray, or similar) and some steel wool after at most every second use.

It is important that you hang the stainless steel bowl in the lid holder and under no circumstances place it in the smoker box, otherwise the heat development will cause a burn mark!
